Privacy Policy

We DO NOT collect any information about visitors to our web site in any way. This includes using cookies (a file on your computer that the web site can use to track your movement across a site), browser queries (you can request information from the browser about the user's name, email address and other information), or any other way.

The only information we collect is when you email us, or contact us in another way. We DO NOT and WILL NEVER sell, rent, give, etc. your information to anyone other than the people in our church that need to respond to your question.

Some tips on how to avoid junk mail:

Most Important: Don't Register for sites, unless you want to be contacted. If you register for i.e. a custom news page, then that web site will have your name, email address, and usually some of the things you like. They then use this information for ads, and/or to send you junk email. They will usually also sell this information to others. I'm not trying to be overly pessimistic, because not all sites do this, but most commercial ones do (this is how they make money). If you register for a site, first read the site's privacy policy. If they don't say that they will keep your information private, then consider if the information is worth potential junk mail.

Use a different email program from your browser (I.e. use the Netscape browser, and a Microsoft email client). Then in the browser's user information put in dummy data (I.e. Name: "aperson", Email: "aperson@aplace.com" ). This way the browser queries return junk data to the site. Note: Microsoft Internet Explorer gets it's information from the Windows OS, so is a lot harder to change (not impossible, but it should only be done by people who know a lot about their computer).

Turn "Cookies" off, or at least have the browser warn you about them before accepting them. If you turn the "cookies" off, then you won't be able to access some sites, but it will be up to you to turn them back on.

Just look at your Preferences/ Internet Options settings. You can find out a lot on what your browser does there.

To set these options for Netscape 4.x , go to the "Edit" menu, and select "Preferences". There click on "Advanced" for the Cookies. And for the user information, click on the plus sign next to "Mail & Newsgroups", and click on "Identity".

To set these options for Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x or 5.x, go to the "Tools" menu, and select "Internet Options". For the cookies go to the "Advanced" tab. For the user information: you can't change it, since Microsoft gets it directly from Windows OS.
